What is Anti-coagulation?
Anti-coagulation is a process that prevents blood from clotting in veins. Medications that help with this process are called
anti-coagulants.
Why visit?
Anti-coagulation helps prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction (Heart attack), and
stroke. If you have symptoms such as painful, swollen, red extremities (arms or legs), difficulty breathing, chest pain, or heart
palpitations, you may have clotting (coagulation) and need to speak with your primary care provider immediately.
