Colorado Springs
Health Partners, PC has a long history of meeting the health care
needs of residents in the Pikes Peak Region. Started by six
physicians, The Colorado Springs Medical Center was formed at a
single downtown location in Colorado Springs in 1946. The founding
physicians were all World War II veterans and included a general
surgeon, two internal medicine specialists, an obstetrics/gynecology
specialist, a pediatrician and an ophthalmologist. The practice grew
to become CSHP through a 1995 merger with several local physician
practices. CSHP was founded on and still holds to the philosophy
that multi-specialty group practice offers the best means of
providing quality medical care.
The mission of
Colorado Springs Health Partners, PC is to provide a consumer
oriented, multi-specialty health care delivery system while making a
positive and caring contribution to the Colorado Springs community.
Growing with
our community
CSHP expansion has
reflected the dynamic growth of the area. The clinic on South
Nevada was the initial site, followed by a north location on Lehman
off Academy Boulevard. Plans for growth and expansion continue as
we strive to meet the growing health care needs of our community in
the 21st century. October 1999 saw the opening of a Briargate
facility, a new southwest office opened in 2001, and an East branch
opened in 2005. Since it’s inception, CSHP has grown to more than 90
physicians, 20 mid-level practitioners, and almost 600 support staff
at 11 facilities.
Setting the
standards
From the very
beginning, Colorado Springs Health Partners has been committed to
advancing the medical field and giving back to the community.
The Colorado
Springs Medical Center was Instrumental in initiating the first
health maintenance organization in El Paso County. Peak Health,
Inc. through several mergers, eventually became part of PacifiCare.
CSHP continues to contract with most insurance plans offered in the
area and admits to both of the area’s acute care hospitals.
Colorado Springs
Health Partners continues to serve as a major contributor to the
health care system. Currently, CSHP contributes to several local
events including March of Dimes fundraisers, Race for the Cure,
Relay for Life, to the Pikes Peak Center on Deafness, and others.
Many of our physicians also have long-standing relationships with
local charitable organizations on an individual.
