I visited the podiatrist for a diagnosis of what I thought was a bunion. He said it was not a bunion, but rather a plantar wart. Mostly he wanted to talk about the foot xray I had had. I told him I have no interest in foot surgery because I know what it entails and how long the recovery is, esp. for a [omitted] woman. He got visibly irritated with me. Told me to go to the drug store and get over-the-counter drops for warts. (Which I did, and used them for a month! No cure!) He did not offer me another remedy. Later, I talked to a friend who referred me to another podiatrist, not with Optum. He cheerfully treated the wart with acid and two weeks later, the wart is gone.
