Dustin Harker, MD joined the Optum-Medical Center Point Neurology Team in January of 2020. Dr. Harker takes seriously the wording of his board certification certificate: “I am a diplomat for Neurology.” He will use his skills, knowledge, and experience to inform and educate Neurology patients and the larger community, and strive to heal those with neurologic disease. Dr. Harker’s other roles and experiences will provide perspective and empathy in his role as a physician. For example, his international exposure allows him to connect with those from different cultures and backgrounds, his missionary experiences facilitates communication and an emphasis on finding common ground, his lifelong involvement in soccer and team sports promotes cooperation, and his role as the father of 13 children prompts continued patience and service. Dr. Harker’s experiences outside of work provide the understanding and context necessary to be an effective physician and participate more fully in the healing of both hearts and minds. As such, he hopes to be your neurologist of choice, and a physician of trust for his patients.
